October 5th, 2008 Hey Everyone! RVP Drums is back! This HUGE update will provide you guys with info about my upcoming drum clinic, sessions I've done, new pictures, a new drumset diagram (the kit is bigger now!), a new video clip and news on my newest project Terror Syndrome. It's been a whirlwind of a past year for myself with so much going on. First of all, the most recent news. I was asked to be part of the Vancouver International Drum Festival, taking place on October 28th, 2008 at The Tom Lee Music Hall in Downtown Vancouver. They wanted me to do a clinic and they wanted Terror Syndrome (my newest Metal creation) to play live as part of the festival. I gladly accepted and here we are! Other drummers performing in the festival are Flo Mounier (Cryptopsy), Gene Hoglan (Strapping Young Lad, Zimmers Hole), Mike Michalkow (Teacher) and Jon Morrison (Berklee Graduate and up and coming Vancouver talent). It's going to be an awesome festival!!! I look forward to seeing some of you RVP followers out there when the festival takes place. Tickets go on sale in Vancouver on October 8th at Tom Lee Music (Downtown Vancouver Location) or you can buy tickets on line at www.tomleemusic.com Look forward to seeing some of you there! 2. I have finally released the debut album for Terror Syndrome. This started as my solo project but turned into a band as soon as I found all the people to play on it. I wrote all the music, wrote half the lyrics, produced the album and played drums on the album. The album
A CD will be released in the future, first digital sales need to be done then you can expect a CD release. Other HUGE news... Terror Syndrome has recruited Dave Padden (Annihilator) as our new vocalist! This guy is sick and will be representing the band from now on. To read up on all the Terror Syndrome news (there's a lot!!!) from the past year you can go to www.myspace.com/terrorsyndromeband 3. I've upgraded my Pearl Reference Kit from a 4 piece to a 7 piece kit!!!! It's sick!!!! I played a 4 piece for over 10 years. I wanted to experiment with tones more by adding a second 14" snare and 10" and 13" Toms to my existing 12" Tom and 16" Floor Tom. I've added a Pearl Drum Rack to make my setup more organized and more comfortable to play. This kit sounds un-believable and looks sick!!!! To check out a Diagram of my new kit you can go HERE and check it out, there will also be a description of the Tom Sizes and updated information on my new Sabian Cymbal setup and my new Evans Skins setup. 4. I was less busy in the session world last year due to producing and completing the Terror Syndrome album but did manage to finish a session for a band called The Mighty One and I did some session work for Producer Brian Howes (Hinder, Hedley, Puddle of Mud) on some record label projects he was doing. I also have joined the progressive rock band Ten Ways from Sunday which also features Dave and Mike Young from DTB/Terror Syndrome. You can check out some rough demos 'Ten Ways' did HERE. Hope you dig it. 5. As you've noticed, I have a new video clip up on the intro page of me recording drums for the Terror Syndrome album. The Lalu Video clip I had up has been moved to the 'Multimedia' section. I have also added some music from Terror Syndrome and The Mighty One to the 'Multimedia' section. Check it out and enjoy! 6. Lastly check out the Gallery section for new pics of RVP and my new Reference Drum Kit loaded with Sabian Cymbals and Evans Drum heads. 7. Lastly, thanks for the support over the past few years.... I have some amazing fans and it's always good to hear from you all. I'll keep you updated more often and check back more info as it happens on RVPdrums.com!

July 18th 2007 Sup Metalheads, Time for another Terror Syndrome update and a new Terror Syndrome song. Terror Syndrome is busy rehearsing and finally preparing to play some shows ! Shows are in the works right now and we're looking to do something starting late August - September 2007, we'll keep you posted on confirmed dates as they happen. We are still looking to release our first album in late 2007 or early 2008. One way or another this beast of a record will be released. It's been a long process but it'll be worth it for all of those who are patiently waiting. The amount of feedback we're getting from emails and our My Space Page is unbelievable. Thanks so much for all your awesome words, we endlessly thank you and can't wait to destroy you guys live ! Please be patient with us returning your emails and My Space messages, it's hard for us to return them all but we always do our best in trying to do so. As for Terror Syndrome MP3's, we've had 5 songs up for a while now and have decided to substitute the song "One Crime Closer to Hell" with "Revolving Horror" on our My Space Page Player. "Revolving Horror" is a straight up, ass kickin' metal tune. It's a big sounding song with punishing instrumentation, topped off with Denton's insane but catchy vocals. A definite "Terror Pit" live song. "Revolving Horror" will definitely be included in the live set, so get to know it now at our My Space Page. You can also hear our songs in a few days at www.terrorsyndrome.com. We are having a splash page with an MP3 player put up until the full website is complete. Geoffrey Rousselot Design is designing it and expect an amazing website when it's done. Lastly, we've been getting a lot of questions regarding downloading our songs. This will come in time but at the moment we're not ready to release a song yet. I hope you all understand. Downloadable MP3's will be coming in time... Again thanks for all the mail we've received regarding this topic, there has been a ton of it ! Thanks for the awesome support, you all RULE !!! Plain and simple. Stay posted for more Terror Syndrome news to come soon. Keep it heavy and HORNS HIGH ! All the best, RVP
June 4th 2007 Hey Metalheads, Just a quick update for you all regarding Terror Syndrome. We've been busy still working on the album, shopping it and lining up some live shows. The album is coming along awesome, we have rough mixes up on our My Space Page but the finished mixes are sounding amazing ! We're not done yet but it's nearing an end. We've also been shopping the album to different labels and distributing companies. There have been some good positive talks with a couple of our connections and we're definitely looking to release the album in 2007 or absolute worst case scenario in early 2008. Whether we sign with a label or release it Independently with a Distribution deal is another story. We'll be deciding on which way we'll release it after shopping it for a little longer to all the other connections we have. We want the best situation to happen so we can get this album out to all of our fans globally and tour it as much as possible. We've also been lining up some awesome potential live shows to maybe happen in August. The shows will be with some signed acts touring thru Vancouver, BC, Canada. We should know more very shortly and we'll keep you posted on all our happenings. We have decided to add one more song to our My Space Page. You all have been patient as we take our time to finish this record and all of you kick ass fans have been emailing/messaging us to add a 5th song on our player to keep the excitement up. So.... you got it. We just released the MP3 for "One Crime Closer to Hell". This song is one of the heavier more punishing songs on the album. Hope you enjoy it cuz you can expect to hear this one in our live set for sure! That officially is it for us and MP3's unless we swap one song out for another because My Space only allows a 5 song maximum, so enjoy ! Lastly, we are going to get started on www.terrorsyndrome.com pretty soon. We will have a Title Page up in the very near future and a full website to follow soon after. You can expect more info, Merchandise, more pic's and maybe even a downloadable Song or two. We'll see. Regardless, we have Geoffrey Rousselot (Suicide City, Biohazard, Ten Ways From Sunday, RVP Drums Webmaster etc.) doing it and you can expect nothing but a kick ass site ! That's about it. Thanks for the unbelievable support, it's been overwhelming to us many times over. We endlessly thank you all for the support and can't wait to see you all on the road as we support our debut album. Exciting times All the best, RVP
April 23rd 2007 Hey Everyone, More Terror Syndrome stuff for you all in this update. Including the first Terror Syndrome review, thats right... a review and I know our album hasn't been released yet ! We also have the track titles for our full length album, which we'll let you all in on. First of all, more music ! This will be the last MP3 we're going to put up for a while. The response from you fans has been fucking insane !!! You all kick major ass and we thank you indefinitely. We keep on getting emailed everyday for more music, so here it is.... "Thrill Pill" is the song being put up today on our My Space Page. This is a straight up, to the point, ass kicker of a song. Can you say "Mosh-Pit" ? We hope you dig it and can't wait to see see you guys fucking shit up in the pit to this tune in the near future. We received our first review a couple weeks ago from Brave Words and Bloody Knuckles journalist Carl Begai. He had some select words to say about the Terror Syndrome music that has been posted on our My Space Page, pretty cool. We've posted the REVIEW at our My Space Page so you all can check it out. Thanks to Carl for letting us know about it and saying some kick ass words about Terror Syndrome. Here are the track titles for our full length album including the guest appearances and what songs they will be playing on. The exact song order for the album has not been decided yet but these will be the songs on the album : 1 - Stupidity for All We're currently looking at our options on releasing the album and will keep you all posted when a decision has been made. The Terror will be ripping your face off soon in 2007 !!! Now for some promoting... A drumming buddy of mine Dirk Verbeuren (Soilwork, Scarve) just recently contacted me and let me know about his new website he put up. It's kick ass ! This guy is one hell of a fucking drummer and I'm all about spreading the news about other talented drummers. Check it out www.dirkverbeuren.com it's a killer site for a killer dude ! If you need an awesome session guy in Europe, here's your man !!! Lastly a musical recommendation. I just got back from seeing Peeping Tom for the first time at The Commodore Ballroom here in Vancouver. God Damn what a show and what a band. I'm a HUGE Mike Patton fan, I loved his work especially in Mr. Bungle/Faith No More and Peeping Tom is right up there in my books, they're debut album is amazing. The That's it for now. Stay posted for more Terror Syndrome news to come soon.... All the best, RVP
April 3rd 2007 MP3 Time !!! First of all, We've been getting nothing but awesome feedback from all of you about Terror Syndrome at our My Space Page, things have really blown up there in just over a month since our First MP3 was released. We want to thank all of you for the absolutely amazing support, we really appreciate it. You guy's truly kick ass in every way possible. Now... We were going to release another couple medley's but we keep getting requests daily for another full length song, so here it is. You can check out "When God Was Sober" at our My Space Page. This is a straight up metal ass kicker of a song. It was one of the first songs I wrote for the album and it was the first song Denton wrote vocals for. This is the song that sold me 150% on Denton's vocal ideas, screaming, singing and overall abilities. His performance on this song proved to me that he was the guy for Terror Syndrome. Hope you guy's dig it, it's one of my fave tunes on the album. Lastly, we will post one more full length MP3 or maybe another Medley in another couple weeks or so and then we'll probably hold off on posting songs for a while until we figure out when and how our album will be released (looking into summer of 2007), we're looking into many options right now and will keep you posted. You may finally get to hear some of the other guest appearances from Alex Skolnick (Testament), Trevor Dunn (Mr. Bungle, Fantomas), Devin Townsend (Strapping Young Lad, Devin Townsend Band) among others on the next MP3. Stay posted and thanks again for the awesome support, you all rule !!!! All the best, RVP
March 22nd 2007 Hey Metalheads, We got another full length MP3 for you all to check out from Terror Syndrome. Riot of Red has just been posted on our Terror Syndrome My Space Page It's a thrashy, in your face, catchy metal tune and it features an insane guest guitar solo from Christofer Malmstrom from Darkane and Non-Human Level. We've had lots of feedback on this song (Part of the 2nd Medley we posted) from a lot of you listeners out there and that is why we chose this song to be the next full length MP3. Thanks for all the support you've shown us since releasing some of our music on our My Space Page a month ago, it's been pretty overwhelming and we appreciate it. We're nearing the end of finishing our album. Still some mixing to be done and mastering then we hope to have the album done and ready for release by summer 2007. We're also in negotiations for playing a show or two in the near future, possibly with some already touring label acts, more details will be released when any show is confirmed. We'll keep you posted, so stay posted ! Enjoy Riot of Red for now, hope it kicks ya' square in the balls or 'gina ! As for my session drumming news, the band Faber Drive have now released some songs on Canadian radio, their first single is the song "2nd Chance". USA radio won't be far behind. They are signed to 604 Records in Canada and Universal Records in the USA. The music is straight up catchy Pop Rock. I did the session drumming for 3 songs with Chad Kroeger (Nickelback), Brian Howes (Closure, Hinder) and Joey Moi (Nickelback, Theory of a Deadman) producing. This stuff is hooky as hell and I'm sure it will do very well. All the best to Faber Drive ! I also just finished recording a full length album for Tim Steinruck a local Vancouver artist. We recorded the drums at one of Vancouvers best studios - The Armoury Studios. The 11 drum tracks were laid down in just over a day, you can say I was well prepared for this session. The music is Hard Rock and again some really catchy stuff with some cool drumming. Devin Townsend is going to guest produce a song for this album as well. Keep your ears open for Tim Steinruck, he has some killer songs ready to be heard. That's it for now. Stay posted, there will be a lot more Terror Syndrome news to come in the very near future ... All the best, RVP

Feb 13 2006 Well it's time everyone ! Get your Metal Shoes on..... Terror Syndrome is now ready to be heard by you all. I'm really excited to finally give a sneak peak of this Heavy, Groove Oriented Metal Band that I've been writing music for and producing over the last 9 months or so. You also get to hear the talented voice of Denton Bramley, a metal voice at it's best along with the awesome Guitar and Bass playing by Dave Young and Mike Young both from the Devin Townsend Band. Everyone did such a great job in my opinion and I'm very stoked to have them on board this metal project! To check out a sound clip go to THE OFFICIAL TERROR SYNDROME MYSPACE PAGE and give it a listen. The MP3 we have up is a medley of 3 songs off of the album which is going to be titled "STUPIDITY FOR ALL ". It's really too bad that you all have to hear Terror Syndrome for the first time through an MP3 but thats how it works on My Space. The quality won't be the best, which sucks, but I'm sure you'll get the idea of how HUGE this album really does sound ! ENJOY !" We will be putting up four seperate MP3 medley's in the upcoming weeks on our My Space Page for you all to check out. The songs in the first medley are Stupidity for All, When God Was Sober and Thrill Pill. Hope you all dig it. You will soon get to hear a taste of all the guest appearances from Alex Skolnick (Testament), Devin Townsend (Strapping young Lad, Devin Townsend Band), Trevor Dunn (Mr. Bungle, Fantomas), Byron Stroud (Fear Factory, SYL), Christofer Malmstrom (Darkane, Non-Human Level) and Michael Manring (Bass Session GOD). Everyone of these guests did an amazing job on their respective songs, I can't wait for you all to hear them in our future MP3 Medleys which will be posted one by one in the near future. The album was mixed and engineered by Shaun Thingvold (worked with Lamb of God, Fear Factory, Strapping Young Lad) at Greenhouse Studios here in Vancouver, BC, Canada. We are still finishing up some details on this album (Still needs to be professionally mastered and such) and we will hopefully be releasing it sometime in late spring/early summer 2007. There will be some more sneak peak MP3's coming soon... Stay posted for more of Terror Syndrome to come your way. It only gets crazier !!!! All the best,
Dec 3rd 2006 Well here it is, the last update for 2006 ! Got a studio update for you all on my solo/side project Terror Syndrome and some related RVP session news. First of all, the Terror Syndrome album is going better than I could ever dream of. I just recieved Chrsitofer Malmstrom's (Darkane, Non-Human Level) guitar solo for the thrash song "Riot of Red". GOD DAMN !!!!!! This solo is absolutely amazing and crazy. If you want speed, weirdness and creative guitar playing, then this solo is the one to listen to. Christofer complimented the craziness of the song as good as anyone could, with his incredible guitar solo. HUGE thanks to Christofer for a job extremely well done and for his contribution to the Terror Syndrome album ! Mike Young (Devin Townsend Band, 10 Ways from Sunday) will be laying down the equally crazy Bass Track for "Riot of Red" this week. I've been in touch with Alex Skolnick (Testament), Michael Manring (Session Bass God), Trevor Dunn (Mr.Bungle, Fantomas) and Devin Townsend (Strapping Young Lad, Devin Townsend Band) and should be have their efforts within the next couple weeks or so. I'm sure you'll hear about their awesome contributions in my next update. Lastly, I've made a couple calls to the best studios in Vancouver for mixing and I am planning on mixing the album late December or early January. Things are finally coming close to an end. Terror Syndrome 2007 !!! Deep Peace Design will start to work on the Terror Syndrome website very soon and will also design our CD artwork, so expect something ready to go online in 2007. Right now you can visit the Terror Syndrome My Space Page which will have some rough-mixed, sneak peak samples of the album any day now. As for RVP Session News, the Polish hard rock band Delight are getting ready to release their debut album "Breaking Ground" on RoadRunner Records on Jan. 19th 2007. I recorded 14 songs for their debut album earlier this year with Rhys Fulber (Fear Factory, Front Line Assembly) producing. They have posted a track named "Divided" on their My Space page. It's a straight up ass kickin hard rock song. This recording was also the first recording I used my new Pearl Reference Kit from my Pearl Endorsement. Killer sounding drums ! My hats off to everyone at Pearl Drums for making such awesome sounding drums ! So keep your ears open for Delight, I have a good feeling that this band is going to make a mark in the music industry. So, another year is coming to an end. 2006 was a great year for me and I hope all of you had a great year as well. 2007 is probably one of the most anticipated years for me in my life ! I'm really excited about getting Terror Syndrome out there for you all to hear and hopefully getting some new Devin Townsend Band stuff done too, when Dev's ready. Which reminds me.... I would like to congratulate Devin and Tracy on the birth of their beautiful baby boy Reyner Townsend. The kid is friggin' adorable !!!! Watch out... Another musical genius is born Well, Merry Xmas and all that Jazz. I wish you all a safe Holidays and a kick ass 2007 ! Be safe. All the best,
Nov 5th 2006 Got some cool news for you all in this update. Some more really cool session work news and a studio update on my solo/side project Terror Syndrome. The Terror Syndrome album is coming along awesome !!!!! Dave Young (Devin Townsend Band, Ten Ways from Sunday) kicked the shit out of the guitar tracks, this guy is unbelievable on guitar and we just finished off all the vocals for the album as well. Vocalist, Denton Bramley (ex-God Awakens Petrified, The Miserables), was in Vancouver for a few weeks and we were able to polish off all the vocals for the album. They are insane ! In my opinion, Denton's singing/screaming voice is up there with the best of them, his melodies and ideas are very cool and catchy as hell. His vocal tracks have elevated this album to a whole new level, just sick. Byron Stroud (Fear Factory/Strapping Young Lad) was able to lay down a killer track in between his Fear Factory tours, he played on a song called "Disposable Empire" and kicked a ton of ass doing it. Mike Young (Devin Townsend Band, Ten Ways from Sunday) laid down his Bass track for the song "Motionless", man is this guy a talent on the Bass as well. Alex Skolnick (Testament), Trevor Dunn (Mr.Bungle, Fantomas), Christofer Malmstrom (Darkane), and Michael Manring (Session God) have the songs they are guesting on and are working on them, I'm hoping to have all the guest's recording's wrapped up pretty soon. Some more pic's were added of the most recent recording sessions, check them out in my Gallery Section. The album is coming together nicely. I have a really heavy and diverse album waiting to be released.... can't wait ! Stay posted for more news to come on this project.... I also recorded 3 tracks for a band called Faber Drive who just recently were signed to Universal Records USA and 604 Records Canada. Chad Kroeger (Nickelback), Brian Howes and Joey Moi (Nickelback, Default) produced the album. Their first single will be one of the songs I recorded drums on. Look for their album to be released in early 2007. That's about it for now. Back to recording the Terror Syndrome album and more session work. I'll keep you all posted....... All the best, RVP
Sept 28th 2006 Well, what can I say, I'm one busy dude!!! I'm sorry once again for the delay in updates but my life has been completely taken over by the album I am recording. I have tons of news for you all in this update, including a name and a new singer for my solo project. The drum tracks for my solo album are done. I recorded all 12 songs
for the album in 2.5 days at The
Armoury Studios here in Vancouver, BC,
Canada. They went awesome and sound HUGE !!! There is a variety We are now in the middle of doing Guitars and some Bass. Dave Young has been shredding up a storm on the Guitar. Some of you may know him as the Keyboard player for the Devin Townsend Band, but let me assure you, you will know him for his guitar playing when you hear this record. The Guitar sound is massive and crunchy and the Bass sound is sub-sonic with killer attack. It is going to sound amazing when it is complete. I have a new singer to announce for this project. The original singer I had in mind did not work out due to time restraints so I recruited a very good friend of mine and amazing singer Denton Bramley. Denton was the first singer of my ex-band, God Awakens Petrified and is currently singing for the Metal band "The Miserables" in San Francisco. He has a killer singing voice with a brutal screaming voice. He fits in perfectly for the project. A few songs written by Denton are "Stupidity for All", "My Next Victim" and "Revolving Horror". The music is heavier with the addition of Denton, it's going to be sick. My Solo album finally has a name now! We settled on the name Terror Syndrome. It was the title for one song by Denton until we agreed that it would make an awesome Metal band name. It also sounds way better than the RVP Solo album! So there it is, Terror Syndrome, get ready for some heavy shit. For now, you can check the Terror Syndrome's Myspace page for more information and updates. The Terror Syndrome official website will be designed soon. You will find a lot of stuff on both sites but wait for the record to be finished to get more multimedia content. The guests for this album are getting ready to record their parts as well. Byron Stroud (Fear Factory and Strapping Young Lad) will record his Bass track next week sometime. I also sent songs to Gustaf Hielm (ex-Meshuggah), Christofer Malmstrom (Darkane and NHL) and I will soon send songs to Trevor Dunn (Mr Bungle and Fantomas), Alex Skolnick (Testament) among other guests so they can lay down their respective parts for the album. It is all coming together slowly but surely. Lastly, some pics of my session at The Armoury Studios were uploaded in the RVP Drums "Gallery" section . There are some cool pics for you all to check out, hope you will like them. Well, back to the grind. I'm hoping to give another studio update on the album very soon with more pictures and other news, so stay posted. Later..... RVP
June 25th 2006 Alright! The studio dates are set for recording my drum tracks for the still-yet-to-be-named solo/side project I am doing. We will be entering The Armoury Studios on August 20th/22nd to do my drumtracks. I will be recording 12 songs in total and there will be 2 instrumentals: One of the instrumental songs will have Alex Skolnick (Testament) and Trevor Dunn (Fantomas/Mr.Bungle) guesting. The other instrumental will have Devin Townsend (SYL, DTB) and Michael Manring showing their stuff. There will also be one cover song recorded and 9 other originals that I have written, which will have other special guests like Gustaf Hielm (ex-Meshuggah), Byron Stroud (SYL, Fear Factory), Christofer Malmstrom (Darkane, NHL) among others. Jeremy Glen (ex-God Awakens Petrified) is still on board to do all the vocals which he will be writing. I am not a singer so I have left all the writing for melodies to Jeremy, who is an amazing songwriter in his own right. We both are writing the Lyrics for the album, which is working out really well. The vibe of the album is pretty damn heavy with some screaming catchy vocals. I have recorded more than half the album in Pre-Production form and am producing the hell out of it. I will be producing the whole record as well. Dave Young (10 Ways from Sunday, DTB) is kicking ass on guitar. This guy is truly amazing and is pulling off some crazy guitar stuff, you'll all hear soon. I am also recording video footage of this project from start to finish, as we go along. Hopefully I'll be able to release a making-of-video when the album is released, to show how it was put together. The time has come to finally get this album under way and I am really excited about it. Expect some heavy-ass music. The last bit of news I have is session related: I will be recording a couple songs for Engineer Ken Burke (The Barenaked Ladies, Sarah McLaughlin, and Moist). He has a Punk Project and decided to get me to guest on a couple of his songs. I will be going in on Tuesday June 27th at the Pacific Audio Visual Studios here in Vancouver to record these songs with him. When the songs are completely done and recorded, I will try and sneak some RVP Punk style drumming on an MP3 for you all. Well that is all for now. Enjoy the summer people. It is absolutely awesome outside right now ! Until next time, All the best RVP
